Summer is here, the kids are off school, it’s time for that family vacation, or as seems to be all the rage at the moment, taking part in a “stay-cation” then you could be in for a treat and some quality family time by enjoying all that the Red Rock State Park in Sedona has to offer this June 2009!

Open up your mind and learn something with a whole host of events at the state park. For instance: On Sunday, June 7 at 2 p.m. in the park theater, there will be a presentation entitled “Close Encounters of the Reptilian Kind.” – Great for young and old alike! An important lesson will be taught here – how to treat or avoid snakebite. Important for those family hikes.

Speaking of hikes, there is a great choice! How about “The Moonlight Hike” on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7. A chance to enjoy the sunset and moonrise. The hike lasts 2 to 2.5 hours, has an elevation climb of 200-250 feet and covers approximately 2 miles.

Or if you feel like hikes and reptiles are not your scene then you could always learn a little about birds. Every Wednesday and Saturday at 7 a.m., visitors can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk.” Beginners as well as advanced birders are welcome for this exciting lesson.

This is just a sample of what you can do in the beautiful Red Rocks in Sedona. The State Park is located at 4050 Lower Red Rock Loop in Sedona. Park hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitor Center hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sedona Arizona Real Estate & Community: Outdoor Living Show Comes to Sedona!

May 18th, 2009 cault Posted in Sedona Beauty, Sedona Community, home improvements Comments Off

Sedona already has a naturally beautiful outside space – the gorgeous red rocks!

However if you are looking for inspiration in creating your own tranquil setting on your property using outdoor art then then this outdoor living show held at El Prado by the Creek is the place to go. Hosted between June 1st through 7th 2009.

It gets better, El Prado by the Creek has created a Stimulus Plan of its own: a tax break and free shipping on artwork featured at the show. Meaning that the gallery will pay your sales tax and your shipping or delivery free within the continental United States for outdoor art purchased during the show. From natural stone fountains and rock furniture to wind and kinetic sculpture, El Prado’s garden is the inspiration for creating your own piece of art! Buyers therefore are saving a lot of money.

The themes for the galleries pieces are the four classical elements,  air, fire, earth and water. Meaning that pieces of art will gel well with different gardens throughout Sedona. Whether your yard is desert, golf-green lush grass, ponderosa pine needles or Sedona red rocks, El Prado has the art pieces to create your haven from the stress of the world.

Definately check it out! El Prado by the Creek is located in Tlaquepaque Village, 336 State Route 179, Sedona, Arizona. Established in 1976, the gallery is a standard for fine art in Sedona. The gallery and gardens are open daily 10 – 5 (summer hours: weekdays open until 6:00 p.m., Friday & Saturday until 7:00 p.m.). El Prado by the Creek can be contacted at 928-282-7390.

Coming this May is Sedona’s Open Studio’s event on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of May. However to start the weekend, on May 1st there is a double celebration with receptions at Sedona Arts Center and Kinion Fine Art, from 5 – 8 p.m., as part of the ’1st Friday’ events.  This is a once-a-year opportunity to peek into the private art studios of some of the areas most exciting artists.

Real Estate Might Just Be Turning Around

February 24th, 2009 cault Posted in Arizona real estate, Sedona Beauty, real estate news, sedona, sedona real estate 2 Comments »

When one takes a look at real estate over the past few months one thing everyone can agree upon is that steps are being taken to improve the real estate market.  The measures being taken appear to be adding up to one goal, a turnaround in real estate sales and a leveling of home prices.  So far things are looking good.  December showed that home sales were up, a positive sign.  Since then Obama has signed a housing bill that includes a first-time home buyer tax credit of $8,000.  This tax credit is a real draw because it does not need to be repaid and a “first-time home buyer” includes the obvious, a person who has never bought a home, and a person who has not owned a home in the past three years.

In addition to the first-time home buyers $8,000 tax credit, home prices are lower than they have been in years.  Along with these low home values come historically low mortgage rates.  Mix all of these factors together and you get a great buyer’s market.  The shock of the state of the economy seems to be settling and people are starting to take a good hard look at the housing market.  It is not only a great time for first-time home buyers but also for people who are looking to invest in real estate.  This is creating a strong buyer’s market and signaling that, in fact, things might be ready to turn around.

Consider Your Closets When Selling your Sedona Home

December 26th, 2008 cault Posted in Sedona Alternative Lifestyles, Sedona Beauty, sedona, sedona real estate 1 Comment »

Closets might just be the small improvement your home needs when getting ready to sell.  Newer homes are built with bigger closets these days and they aren’t just dark spaces with doors any more.  Today’s closets, thanks to companies like California Closets and other offshoots, are filled with light and organized spaces like drawers, shelves, shoe racks and hanging bars that hang at different heights to accommodate different articles of clothing.  Some closets are like small rooms.  Regardless of whether you have a new home or an older home, if your closets aren’t organized they can be.  Closets can be do-it-yourself projects or created by a contractor or a company like California Closets.  Remodeling closets can be an inexpensive re-model that can add value to the sale of your home without breaking the bank in the mean time.
