Sedona Arizona Real Estate & Community: Sedona’s Art’s Center still needs your help!

August 16th, 2010 kinetic Posted in Sedona Alternative Lifestyles, Sedona activities No Comments »

Artist Hanging Paintings at Exhibition

Sedona is known for its great local arts scene – however it is important that a community supports its local arts and culture!

Sedona’s Art’s Center still needs your help to save the Art Barn!

The Pepsi Refresh Challenge continues throughout August and the Arts Center is ranked 71 out of 500+ ideas in the $250,000 category – we need to win! In order to win we need to get to number 1 or 2!

The Sedona Arts Center is competing for $250,000 to rehabilitate the old Art Barn Building which has been a part of Sedona since the 1930′s.

The lower level of the Art Barn was originally a Community Theater – this part was constructed in the mid 1990′s. This was a popular part of the center for a long time but as the theater business wound down, educational workshops grew! This space was converted into a classroom used for summer art camps and more!

The Wish List for the Theatre Studio is to upgrade the interior space to create a state of the art classroom environment for students of all ages that remains artistically stimulating.

This is part of Sedona’s art scene and needs our help as a community in Sedona! The arts center is so important in helping to foster the spirit of Sedona’s culture.

Sedona Arizona Real Estate & Community: Sedona Seven Canyons Golf Club – Great Golf Getaway!

June 28th, 2010 cault Posted in Sedona activities No Comments »

Saipan, USA

Golf is definitely a great pastime for many.

Sedona is blessed with many great golf courses, but there is one which receives such great reviews – the Seven Canyons Golf Club.

Located about 17 miles north of Sedona, this par-70, 6,746-yard golf course offers spectacular golfing and scenery in one!

Seven Canyons was built as a private golf club in Sedona in 2003. But like many private venues across the country, the downturn in the economy hit hard, so Seven Canyons recently opened its doors to public play.

The golf course and the scenery are gorgeous. More than 100,000 acres of the Coconino National Forest surround Seven Canyons and Golfers enjoy a 360-degree view of Sedona’s red rock mountains.

The golf course itself is a bear, featuring narrow fairways and large, undulating bentgrass greens. So it is not an easy course.

But difficulty aside, if you are coming to Sedona for a trip then play a round of golf here at Seven Canyons! Of course, you can always relocate to Sedona and enjoy the club year round!

There are many commemoration ceremonies across the nation – including large events in Washington DC, here in Sedona and the Verde Valley we have a bunch of events happening to mark the occasion.

As part of the Memorial weekend remembrance, the Veterans of Foreign Wars will place white crosses on veterans’ graves in the cemeteries in Jerome, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, and Sedona during three-day weekend.

Remembrance services aside we also have the Memorial Day Bell Rock Plaza Arts and Crafts Show. In its 14th year, here at Bell Rock Plaza, the event has become something of a local tradition.
