What better way to explore the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona and the surrounding area than by mountain bike!
The stunning landscape which draws thousands of visitors each years as well as people to relocate to the area full or part time – or even to purchase a vacation home! – is accessible to those on foot or bike. Sedona is after all, one of Arizonas top destinations.
The area is at its best during the fall season, temperatures are cooler and the sunsets stunning!
There are many different trails for bikers of different skill levels, from charming flowing, big-ring singletrack to white-knuckle, cliff hugging and heart pounding!
East of Sedona the trails feature a lot of rocks, slickrock, loose rock, steep climbs and ascents as wellas ledge drops and tight, switchbacks. One writer suggests that those starting out on their mountain bike tour of the city goes to the Bell Rock trail first and then you can move on to other tough trails such as Buddha Beach via Cathedral Rock. Or perhaps Templeton - the most popular trail in Sedona!
