Archeology Month Kicks Off Sunday in Sedona AZ

March is Archeology month in Sedona Arizona and it kicks off tomorrow, Sunday March 1st, at Red Rock State Park.  At 2:00 p.m. in the Park Theater there will be a presentation called “How Astronomy and Science Helped Create the Ancestral Puebloan World: What Archaeoastronomy Tells Us about Puebloan Culture.”  Astronomy was widely used as a tool for the Puebloan people.  Astronomy was used to plan ceremonies, help with hunting and planting, and to determine the seasons.  Bryan Bates, an Archaeoastronomer, will be sharing his knowledge and research on this subject and is sure to captivate his audience.  Take advantage of the education Sedona has to offer and take part in Archeology Month.  For more information or reservations call (928) 282-6907.
