Storage is always a problem, many people hoard too much clutter! With many people downsizing their properties when relocating or as they get older they often find that they need an effective storage solution!

This means that clutter needs to be organized, old and useless items - without sentimental value - should be discarded/recycled.  Once you have slimmed down the offending items you can first start organizing the storage areas you do have. Utility rooms, garages, attic space etc. The best ways of tackling this is by purchasing large storage bins available cheaply from discount stores.

For less obviouls storage areas such as bedroom closets, make use of that dead space, hand an extra shelf in there and donate those old clothes. What abou the home office? Invest in a filing cabinet and get a filing system in place. However, before rushing out to the store to purchase new furniture, work with what you have first and then if you really do need to purchase another item then do so. After all, you have just de-cluttered the place, you do not need to start junking it up again!

Finally, remember that organization and decluttering are ongoing issues and when you accumulate more items make sure they have a place and if you have not used an item in a long time and it has been gathering dust in a closet or attic, then perhaps its time it was ditched.
