With buyers out hunting for bargains it is no wonder that the National Association of Realtors is hinting at an increase in market activity for the 4th quarter of 2008. The data, although early, is indicating a market which is on track towards stability and potentially in the future, price gains.

There has been a rise in their Pending Home Sales Index which measures the number of contracts written on a property. The numbers were up in June and it is expected that there will be a hive of activity in the market by the end of the year as buyers take advantage of the the market as well as the provisions laid out in the Housing Stimulus Bill. i.e. increasing the availablilty and criteria of the FHA Loan program as well as the first time buyers tax credit of $7500.

What is for sure is that if you are on the fence and considering purchasing a property now may be the best time for years with interest rates so low and a great selection of property for sale at excellent prices!
