Camping and Hiking in Sedona Arizona
Despite only having residents numbering in the thousands, according to some statistics Sedona receives millions of visitors each year. Why? Well, look at those views of the Red Rocks!
Hiking and camping are popular and our very own Red Rock News has written a great article on the two.
The article starts of for novice campers who have decided that now is the time for them to explore the area - whether they are visiting or live in the area. It suggests that Oak Creek Canyon is a good place to start as it is near Highway 89A which is great in minimizing the chance of getting lost! Bootlegger & Cave Springs it suggests provide fine camp grounds with adequate facilities for those who like the home comforts such as bathrooms! They also have firepits and great views up the creek.
Campers and hikers should note that fires are only allowed in designated campgrounds due to low moisture in the air brush fires are always a risk. There are more adventurous areas for hikers which involve climbing boulders and wading across creeks. Sedona and its network of trails certainly give a varied selection of adventures for campers!
