Where Do Sedona Mayoral Candidates Stand?
Do Sedona real estate developers have too much power?
When Sedona residents vote later this year on its mayoral candidates, there are many local issues of concern. Among them are budgeting and revenue concerns. And last Thursday, Sedona mayoral candidates stated their positions. Sedona Red Rock News reports on their areas of agreement:
All three candidates oppose a city tax on real property, but agreed a
general obligation bond approved by the voters may be needed to pay the
cost of future infrastructure.
All acknowledge alternative revenue sources need to be identified so the city need not rely so heavily on tourism.
All pledge to be fiscally responsible.
All favor long-range financial planning.
All promise to keep residents involved in the process of government.
However, it is important to note that they disagree on different key points, including how to deal with Sedona real estate developers. Before voting, it is important to understand the differences so that you can choose the candidate that best matches your views.
