Big Year for Sedona Real Estate Controversy
Several controversies sprout over Sedona real estate
This year has seen a great deal of Sedona real estate controversy. With the beautiful red rock setting, and access to fine dining, entertainment, shopping and good schools, Sedona is an ideal place to live. But that also means that there are questions about how to manage the real estate growth in the area.
One of the biggest on going controversies has been the Hwy 179 improvement project. This has brought a number of changes to Sedona real estate already, affecting businesses, residences and the scenic beauty of the area. One of the biggest related stories has been the efforts to save the Sedona trees along the route.
Another big Sedona real estate story this year was the announcement by the "Gabriel of Sedona" to sell $13 million in Sedona real estate assets and move closer to the Mexican border.
Other big Sedona real estate stories of 2007 include the Chapel of the Holy Cross, Uptown enhancement, funding for Sedona lanscaping and Sedona Cultural Park plans from Fitch Industries.
And, while not in Sedona, the Arizona Snowbowl debate over using gray water in snowmaking is reaching Sedona as Green Sedona and other residents and activists speak out.
