Closing the Home Sale
Counteroffers and Market Value
Frequent questions about closing the sale often surround the actual pricing and negotiating, but by assuming that everyone is being truthful, you’ll have a much easier time.
Most people who sell their home expect a buyer to offer a bid that is a little low so they can counter it. Unfortunately, sellers don’t usually think that way. Don’t let your deal be derailed by countering a good offer. If you get a good offer, accept it.
Home prices are usually what the homeowner expects to get. There once was a time when houses were placed on the market at a price the owners planned on ‘coming down on’ when they got a real offeer. However, today’s homes are priced to sell. You won’t find much, if any, leeway in those prices.
